Is the data really unlimited?
Yes, there is no data cap on your phone. Only hotspot has its own allowance of just under 1 GB per day (for example 6 GB for 7 days).
When does my plan start?
Once the eSIM connects to a network in Japan. Days are counted as calendar days in Japan time.
Does my phone support eSIM?
Dial *#06# on your phone. If a number labelled “EID” appears, your phone supports eSIM. More details and a device list in the eSIM check. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked.
Do I keep my number, iMessage and WhatsApp?
Yes. The eSIM is added to your phone, your home line stays. iMessage, FaceTime and WhatsApp keep working with your usual number, only the data goes through the Japan eSIM.
How fast do I get the eSIM?
Instantly by email. You get the QR code and step-by-step instructions. Install it once you arrive, it takes about 5 minutes.
Can I get a refund?
You can cancel for a full refund as long as the eSIM has not been delivered. Once the QR code is delivered it is non-refundable, because it is ready to use.
